くらえ! Ace Attorney: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Bouken Next Week!

Nintendo 3DS [Visual Novel Adventure] Japanese Release: July 9th, 2015

Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke No Bouken, the prequel to everyone's favorite video game law simulator Gyakuten Saiban (Ace Attorney) will be out on the 9th of July! And in keeping with the turnabout nature of series, this latest entry changes the formula dramatically, like a bold finger pointing forward followed by a resounding TAKE THAT!

For the first time, the Ace Attorney series will now take place in the past, forgoing the usual contemporary setting; Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke No Bouken follows the story of defense attorney Ryuunosuke Naruhodou, a direct ancestor of Phoenix Wright from the Meiji era of Japan, where the legal profession is at a nascent stage.

In his journey for justice, Ryunnosuke will even find himself travelling to London, with none other than one of the most legendary detectives of all time: Sherlock Holmes with his rapid fire powers of deduction!

This introduction of one of literatures most iconic characters isn't just superficial; throughout the game, players will have to use the implications of Sherlock's thought processes and add their own powers of perception to reach a favorable conclusion, if not outright challenge the famous detective.

As well, many will recognize the nods to many of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's works, as episodes are influenced by the adventures from respective mystery novels such as "The Hound Of The Baskervilles" and "The Adventure of the Speckled Band." To further this theme, there's also a huge in-game dedication to one of Japan's greatest novelist: Natsume Sōseki; this combination of both famous fictional and real life elements present a new case for pushing the visual novel adventure genre forward.

Ace Attorney's beloved gameplay returns with full application of the 3DS' 3D capability; environments and courtroom scenes pop to life, and there will be more interactive objects during investigation. Of course, trials return, but with a notable twist, as Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke No Bouken introduces the new jury system that adds a new layer to the classic turnabout. Players will have one more chance to convey the truth at a last minute gamble by convincing the jury through the "jury examination" mechanic, an evolution of the cross examination where inconsistencies can be pointed out even between 2 different jurors.

With a brand new cast of characters, all with 3D animation and an improvement to facial expressions, Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke No Bouken is brought to you by the same team responsible for Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and this new direction for Ace Attorney shows that there is still room for this tried and tested courtroom formula to grow, making this title an exciting and new addition to the Ace Attorney series!

Look out for the free DLC episode available from July 9th to the 19th!
