Fun Bamboo Blade TV Series Side Story
If you enjoyed the Bamboo Blade TV series, you will most likely also enjoy this drama CD. It's even sillier than the TV series; right from the start, it drops Saya into a sequence of absurdly hilarious situations, and the wackiness never lets up. It would be best to watch most of the series first before listening to this CD, as the CD's story takes place immediately after episode 15 (during a weekend joint-school training session), but it isn't absolutely necessary. The length of the disc content is a healthy ~69 minutes, with ~54 minutes being the story portion. The entire cast is featured, including the Machido team and even Tamaki's father. Kuwashima Houko's song is beautifully performed, though it does not really fit alongside the comedic story of the disc. Be warned that the disc is contained in a somewhat flimsy single-fold cardboard case, with nearly no liner notes, rather than a standard jewel case. This makes it quite a bit more vulnerable to damage than a typical CD. If not for that, I would give this full marks.

NOTE: use common sense and be aware that this CD is entirely in Japanese (aside from occasional comical outbursts of thickly accented English, mostly from Saya). Quiet your internal otaku and refrain from purchasing if you don't have reasonable Japanese listening comprehension.
