The End Is Nigh puts players in control of a blob-like creature named Ash. Ash is one of the few “things” who survived when an undefined apocalypse has ended the world. Ash will head out to the world to work on his main goal, which is to find a new buddy to talk to… which is kind of epic. The End Is Nigh takes Ash into a whole new world full of never-ending obstacles he should conquer to find that new friend.

You will be seeing a lot of weird things in the game that will make you hardly believe that those elements will serve as essentials, for you to succeed in your quest. You should never ignore things like Bones, Tumors, and Cartridges that you will encounter along the way, as it plays a very important role in the gameplay. Get your inner-scaredy cat ready not to be frightened as you will be talking to piles of bones, who sometimes offers instructions for every beginning of each new stage. Talking about tumors, each level has a valuable tumor on it that requires an extra bit of skill to reach and those tumors can then be used to unlock unknown areas.

Every new stage presents new obstructions for you to survive. It features collapsing towers, crushing blocks, and a spikey environment. In addition, there will also be rising lava, flesh-consuming mass, as well as over-bombing ghosts. Part of the gameplay is also the hidden areas to be discovered behind fake walls. Even at the bottom of your heartbeat leaping drops you’d assume would kill you–in which you’ll find mega tumors (equivalent to 5 tumors) or can also be collectible cartridges.

Great feels of satisfaction can be obtained when you make an extra effort to get these collectibles too, not simply for the added reward you earn but because it has the potential to slow you down. If you came to this point of the game, grab this opportunity to retire yourself to near-infinite collapse, free yourself from the stress that you are feeling and secure consistent progress.
