We’re going back to the track in the era of Anglo-Saxon and Vikings! Anglo-Saxon is the first people to be called as English. They are the people who lived in Great Britain in the 5th century. Historically speaking, they dominated the period of Great Britain between 450 to 1066. In the early era of Anglo-Saxon, they created the English nation. They also established Christianity. They also dominated the literature and language written in England and eastern Scotland using the term Old English.
Meanwhile, The Vikings are Norse seafarers. They are also known as pirates in the late 8th to the 11th century. They speak Old Norse language. They also raid and trade from Northern European homelands to across the area of whole Europe.
Now, let’s go to the plot! You will see the resemblance of Anglo-Saxon and Vikings era. The game sets in 878 A.D or Anno Domini. Alfred the Great is the English king at that time, and he builds a heroic defense at the battle of Edington. He also successfully lessens the Viking invasion. The Norse warlords settle somewhere in Europe. After those years of battle, there is peace in the fragile state.
Sovereignty is now on the line. The kings of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales seize the opportunity for this sovereign isle. There will be treaties and the deadliest of them all, the spark of war will start. This is the start of the ascent of one of history’s greatest nations.
What do you need to do? Strategize well! Expand your territory through force of arms, acquire a lot of construction, technology, and massive influence. Once you conquer these, you will have the ultimate victory. Since this is historically based game, explore the Vikings and Anglo-Saxon era in your gameplay. Either a Viking warlord or Anglo-Saxon king your choice to define their legacy.
