Old But Definitely Gold

With computer technology advancing rapidly over the past several decades, video gaming in particular, has gone through an incredible transformation. From huddling on the floor around the CRT TV to playing online with hundreds of people on the go, things have certainly changed since their creation in the early 1970s.

Currently, we’re in what is called the eighth generation of home gaming consoles with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and we’re bordering on the ninth with the release of the Nintendo Switch. However, even with their detailed graphics, high-polygon models, and realistic physics, there is still something about older games that gives them a unique charm.

If you were a kid of the 1980s or 1990s, you probably have memories of the Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System(NES), or the SEGA Genesis (Or the Mega Drive if you’re not in North America). Fond memories, like setting the high score on Ms. Pac-Man, discovering the warp pipes in Super Mario Bros, or arguing with your friends at school about which was better, Nintendo or SEGA.

So how about we relish in some nostalgia? With our newly added retro games collections, you can once again experience that feeling you had as a kid! So go dig out that NES and/or SNES, dust it off, and hook it up to your TV! (You don’t need your parents help to set it up now!) If you don’t have an NES or SNES you can consider picking up this retro console that can play both!

So, get comfy and follow us as we go through these newly added collections that while old are pure gold!

Before you go on a mission, there is a map featured in the game where you can view and discover the trapped victims and threatening hot spots. Right after you examine the map, you must think and choose the best equipment you are going to carry and use in your mission. Chemical & electrical fire extinguisher, an oxygen tank, a rope and an ax are some of the types of equipment that you can utilize in the game.

However, the more equipment you equip, the more it will be limited to your actions. You will not be able to run or kick, so in conclusion, you can just merely walk.

Your ultimate goal in this game is to cross the building while avoiding fires or extinguishing them, rescue victims and keep from being burned. Along the way, you will be facing series of obstacles that will stop or kill you including collapsing floors and explosive barrels.

Remember, here in this game, there are no power-ups that can renew your health or fire extinguishers so you must be very extra careful.

Points are given after each stage for saving victims, the time left on the meter as well as “Event” points. So, if you received a certain amount of points at the end of the game, you will then be treated to a special bonus stage.

However, leaders are also experiencing a huge amount of fear that it can also cause leaks of confidential material. Hence, all the research was done on expansive grounds in a nationally sponsored facility that was constructed behind the rocks.

But, because the near future also obliges practical research, the people lost contact with the scientists working at the facility. Immediately the defense forces are dispatched to an elite survey of troops. And suddenly, a sky reconnaissance plane was shot down last, forcing the area to go into a state of emergency.

BurgerTime

The first retro title in this cartridge is, BurgerTime. Mmmh, who are the burger lovers out there? Well, you better give this classic game a try and feed your hungry soul with some virtual burger delight. Nom nom!

BurgerTime is an arcade game where players take the role of Chef Peter Pepper who is tasked to walk over hamburgers positioned transversely a maze of platforms and avoiding pursuing characters at the same time.

Here in this game, when you walk through the length of the hamburger’s ingredient like a bun, tomato, meat patty, etc., it falls to one level. If it lands atop another ingredient, the following, in turn, falls one level. When all vertically aligned ingredients have been dropped out of the maze onto a waiting plate it means that a burger has been completed. Once all burgers are achieved, the game level is completed.

However, it is not a clear road, folks. The road to success is never a one-way street, neither is this game. Opponents will start to appear during gameplay and you must avoid it. There are three kinds of enemies that you will encounter here in this game: Mr. Hot Dog, Mr. Pickle, and Mr. Egg. Enemies can be dodged, stunned, crushed (with a falling ingredient), or dropped by enticing them onto an ingredient, resulting it to fall. In this last case, the piece will fall two extra levels for each opponent caught on it. In just a few seconds, the enemies that have been crushed or dropped will return to the maze.

To obtain a high score, the player must lure more than one opponent onto an ingredient just before dropping it. Why? Always keep in mind that here in this game dropped enemies has larger point valued than crushed ones.

Through your journey, you will be equipped by pepper shots to use against nearby foes to stun and render them harmless for a small amount of time. Obtain extra shots through collecting bonus foods, such as coffee, an ice cream cone, or French fries, which appear in the center of the maze when a certain number of ingredients have fallen.

There are six screens of progressing difficulty, with more burgers and opponents, burgers that have more ingredients, and designs that make it more accessible for you to be cornered and much complicated for you to grasp the ingredients. Finishing all six screens brings you back to the first one.

Side Pocket

The second game in line is the Side Pocket. It is a pocket billiards video game released in 1986 by Data East.

Furthermore, there is an instance that a pocket will light up. If that happens, aim to sink the ball right into that pocket as bonus points and extra points can be obtained by doing so.

In addition, the game also consists of a two-player mode. There is no change in the gameplay except the two players take turns. If one player fails to pocket a ball or scratches, the control of the ball goes to the other player.

This game also features a two-player nine-ball mode. A variety of trick shot trials are also available to the players, to earn further points or extra shots, challenging the player to sink all balls into preferred pockets through a single shot.

Most enemies can be defeated with any kind of a single hit, and multiple enemies can be destroyed with one hit if they are standing close together.

Once you defeated or avoided all of the enemies in each level, it is now time for the gruesome battle between you and the super warrior bosses. In order for you to jump to the next level, you have to successfully take down the boss.

Magical Drop

To start off, let’s talk about the first entry, Magical Drop. In Japan, it is known as MagiDro (マジドロ). It is a series of puzzle games developed for several gaming consoles such as Neo Geo Arcade, Super Famicom, Sega Saturn, PlayStation, Bandai WonderSwan, GBC and the Neo Geo Pocket Color by Data East.

In this game, a stack of random colored bubbles falls from the top. When a bubble hits the bottom, the player is considered defeated. Bubbles can be picked up and dropped by the player’s clown at the bottom, and are damaged when three or more of the same color are put together on a single column.

Chains are established either when a single drop produced a chain reaction, or when more than one group of bubbles is destroyed in swift succession. Normally, the game is played with two players, (one may be a computer opponent), and chains cause the opponent’s stack to drop faster.

All in all, there are 24 characters in this game each having different attack patterns. The columns of the opponent’s stack will drop at particular rates relative to each other depending on the chosen character. This produces a disjunction of colors resulting to be even more difficult for the other player to empty their stack.

Fighters History

The game series was best known for its main unique feature which is the weak point system. Tatakae Genshijin (Joe & Mac)

Third in line is the Joe & Mac: Tatakae Genshijin also known as Caveman Ninja. It is a platform game released in 1991 by Data East.

The game features the two characters of the game known as Joe and Mac. The green-haired caveman is Joe while the blue-haired is Mac. The aim of the game is to liberate a group of women who were abducted by an opposing tribe of cavemen.

Here in this game, you are going to battle through several prehistoric levels using a boomerang, bone, fire, flint, electricity, stone wheel, and a club.
