This game is originally scheduled for the release this March 30. However, they delayed it. Here’s the official announcement from @AgonyGame, the official twitter account of the game.

In many religions and tradition, hell is considered as the land of the punishment in the afterlife. Not many horror games are based on the land of punishment. However, Agony defies it.
According to the interview, this is inspired to create the game in hell by reading Dante Alighieri’s Inferno. He is mesmerized by the complexity of Alighieri’s vision of hell. As he reads the epic poem, he learns more about the oldest scriptures in many religions.
In this game, you will play as one of the Martyrs in hell. You have no memories to remember. But you have a unique ability that you possess. You can possess other Martyrs. The ultimate goal is to escape the fires of hell. It does sound easy, right? However, can you manage the depth and the horrors of hell? What kind of demons will you meet on your hellish journey? While you are on the journey escaping hell, you must solve puzzles to unlock new areas. The only thing to escape is to meet the mystical Red Goddess. How will you face the Red Goddess in the hellish environment?
