Front Wings’ Visual Novel Island Is Heading To PS4 This June!

Hey there folks! Guess what? Another visual novel title is heading to PlayStation 4 this Spring. And it is the Front Wing-developed, Island. Publisher Prototype and developer Front Wing are targeting a June 28 release in Japan.
So for Japanese fans out there, get those credit cards ready as the game is now open for pre-order! Place yours now!
However, there is no announcement yet if the game will have an English localization. So, better keep your fingers crossed. But if you are in deep anguish for it not being localized in English, you may want to reconsider by just watching an anime of it instead. It is announced that an English release for an anime adaptation of the game will premiere sometime this 2018. So, stay tuned!

Island takes you to the fictitious isle of Urashima, an island that is very distant from the mainland. In this island, it is believed that its inhabitants’ lives are at ease. However, five years ago, there is this incident where three of the great families living in Urashima has undergone a series of bad lucks and fall in with suspicion.
Since then, the residents of the island suspended all means of communication with the mainland and started to undergo a slow deterioration. But, what could be the possible reason why did they isolated the island from the mainland? Well, a local disease known as “Baimonbyō” (Soot Crest Sickness) that was transmitted to the mainland was the reason why the island is closed off to outside contact.
And now, the solution to this slump lies in the three ladies who belong to the three great families of Urashima. However, these three ladies are wrapped by their old traditions and are conflicted.
Then one day, a strange young man was found lying unconsciously at the island shore. Later on, he was rescued by a young lady known as Rinne. After that incident, Setsuna began living under the roof of Ohara family and worked as their servant.
On the other hand, Setsuna claims that he comes from the future and assigned to save the world. However, it seems like his memory has been wiped out and cannot remember who gave him the mission. With a mysterious determination and enthusiasm, he begins a solitary struggle to change every tradition on the island.
On the other hand, in Urashima, there is a legendary tragic love between a man named Setsuna, and a lady named Rinne. With this in mind, since Setsuna bears the same name from the boy in the legend, the Islanders then speculate the legend’s significance.
