The gameplay is simple. You have to throw the ten balls to your enemies to win. Of course, this is the enhanced version of the 1985 arcade game of Penguin Wars. You can evolve your characters in the Story Mode. Evolve them and battle against other players using both local and online game. Take the memory lane especially to those retro gamers and at the same time to the new players as this game brings a new set of rules which you can enjoy.
Join Riley the Penguin and his crew on the adventure to Gira Gira land. Win the battle to evolve your character. You can buy Gira Skills. Gira Skills is a skill to learn special moves for each character in this game. Earn their special moves and master it, it might be your edge against other players out there.
The game brings back to the 80s as it restores the music from the original version in 1985 game. It has been remixed and updated by some well-known musicians from Japan.
According to some sources, a physical Limited Launch Edition of this game will come with a digital download code for the official soundtrack. Penguin Wars will have a DLC soon.
【FEATURES】
- Story Mode – Join Riley and his friends on their journey to Gira Gira land. Collect items and earn candy to evolve your favorite character. You can also buy “Gira Skills” that let you learn special moves for each character. You can play one on one, two on two, or even play with different rules such as using bombs and other items against your opponents. Each character has a different skill set so make sure to use and master appropriate characters to help you on your journey
- VS Mode (Local) – On Nintendo Switch, pick your characters and a set of rules to play with a max of 4 people. Tabletop mode allows players to play while standing in front of each other like the good ‘ole arcade days
- VS Mode (Online) – Play against people in Gira Gira land or you can match up directly with friends. Use characters that you’ve evolved in the story mode and see who comes out on top
