The latest title in the SaGa series will reach PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Square Enix proudly announced SaGa: Scarlet Grace is coming to the said consoles. This science-fiction, open-world RPG will feature some minor gameplay issues plus an additional story content only for PS4 and Switch. By the way, it’s coming on August 02. How cool is that? The game sets in an unknown land. A powerful empire dominates this land. The people worship the Star Gods. Each Star God represents a different aspect of human life. One of the Star Gods, dubbed as the Fire Bringer, falls into betrayal. Hence, he turns into a comet. In every 150 years, this comet returns to the world and brings monsters to spawn around. Because of this cycle, the Star Gods chose a hero to defeat the Fire Bringer. At the seventh battle, the Fire Bringer is down after thousand years of battle. However, an unfortunate event happen. The last Emperor is dead because of assassination. The Empire is divided to his warring sons. Now, the Empire is gone. 70 years after the empire’s collapse, the new nations start to build although there are attacks from magical monsters.
The game follows the four protagonists as they pursue their own missions across the remains of the lost empire. Here’s the four protagonist of SaGa: Scarlet Grace below.
The players take control of the four protagonists through different missions. Each character can pick up on a group to join them in their mission. Prior to the game, a series of question will be asked amongst the players. These answers allow recommending a character to start with. The game is a nonlinear gameplay. It means you can complete the game in any order you want.
