Today we go back in time, or more specifically at the end of the XX Century. At that time the market was dominated by the sixth generation of consoles, and in addition to the hugely popular PlayStation 2 and Xbox, SEGA released its last home video game system, a machine that is still remembered today as one of the most interesting projects of that era…the unforgettable Dreamcast!
Despite its quite short life-span and its limited third parties support; Dreamcast gave us some of the most innovative killer apps ever.

Produced and directed by Yu Suzuki, the creator of OutRun, Space Harrier, Virtua Fighter, and many other gems, the Shenmue series is made by a couple of action-adventure games heavily inspired by the traditional Hong-Kong movie industry. The main character is Ryo Hazuki; the last heir of a dynasty of martial artists. Since he was a child he has been trained hard in the lethal art of fighting by his father Iwao Hazuki; which was also the owner of the Hazuki Dojo and the keeper of the mystical Dragon Mirror. The latter is a supernatural relic that if used in combination with the Phoenix Mirror can summon the ancient creature called Chiyou (蚩尤), a world-devouring beast which has a bronze head with a metal forehead, 4 eyes, and 6 arms that wield extremely sharped weapons in every hand. Chased by the Chinese triad family Chi You Men led by the powerful Lan Di; he eventually killed Iwao and stole the mirror. So, to avenge his father’s murder Ryo starts to investigate on him. This mission will take him from Japan to China and return.
