  • Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom release date will be revealed this month.
  • FDG Entertainment uploaded the very first image of the Monster Boy game card.
  • Nintendo Switch version is exceeding the PS4 version.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is due for a summer release. And a lot of gamers are yearning to get their hands on this colorful action-adventure game. In fact, publisher FDG Entertainment revealed on Twitter that its pre-orders are in full swing. And the data that they’ve unveiled helps to boost the sales of the game even more.

So, guess what? It turns out that the Nintendo Switch version of the game is outselling the PS4 version with a ratio of 10:1. That is not just double, but that it’s ten times stronger than the PS4 version. Well, that is pretty impressive. And at the same time, it’s one huge indication of how strong is the user base of Nintendo Switch right now.

Most likely, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom will sell on PS4 too, but it’s very intriguing to see Nintendo’s console beating Sony’s PS4.

You can take a look at the official post of FDG Entertainment on Twitter below.

After a few days of its reveal on this year’s E3, FDG confirmed that the trailer released represents the final graphics quality on the Nintendo Switch console. You can find it below.

And last July, FDG Entertainment uploaded the very first image of the Monster Boy game card on Twitter. The game card features the game’s protagonist, Jin, holding his sword into the air. Check it out below.

DEVELOPMENT

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom has spent a long time in development now. But, as we can see from its trailer reveal back at this year’s E3, the game just looks spectacular. And according to an interview of Gamingbolt with FDG Entertainment’s Philipp Döschl, the most prominent changes are the graphics. Döschl said that the game’s graphics were completely reworked by their team a couple of times in the past four years. Check out the comparison below:

Also, Döschl said that Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is not just a game “inspired by” the Wonder Boy Series, instead it’s actually a real sequel to the series. It gives the same vibe while bringing in lots of modern tweaks to it.

Moreover, Döschl revealed that the creator of the Wonder Boy Series, Ryuichi Nishizawa, is on board. Although Ryuichi Nishizawa is not really on-hands in the project, he still gives a lot of valuable feedback on things.

FDG Entertainment has no exact words yet for Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom’s release date. 1. Nidget says:

I will buy this game probably both on PS4 and on Switch, like I did for the remaster of Wonder Boy.

However, don’t you seriously believe the pre-sales on the Switch version outperforms the PS4 only because the handheld Switch is a better support for this kind of game ? This just shows to Sony that there was a market for handhelds in North America and that their multiple mistakes regarding the PSP and the Vita have killed their opportunity to sell handhelds outside Japan.
