PlayStation 4™ & PS Vita – Japan
First announced in March 2015, Steins;Gate developer, Chiyomaru Studio reported their new project called Anonymous;Code. It is a sci-fi adventure game (visual novel) for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
Anonymous;Code will be released physically in Japan and digitally. As of now, no concrete release date for the game is yet announced. All we know is that it is set to launch this winter, as per publisher 5pb.

Anonymous;Code brings players to the future life of the year 2037 and is set around an “Earth Simulator” created by the supercomputer called “Gaia.” A year prior to the current year in the game, a so-called “2036 Problem” occurs where a massive destruction of major cities around the world befell caused by computers.
It is said that a similar event is anticipated to happen again in the year 2038, so the supercomputer “Gaia” is used to develop the “Earth Simulator” to study the possible effects of the threatening disaster.
At first, the experiment was inconclusive because of the low birth rates in the alternate Earth. As a solution, a message called the “Arecibo Message” was applied to permit humans to live in there. However, computer-made humanity soon built its own Earth Simulator, leading their own Earth Simulator to question its own existence.
Follow the role of the game’s protagonist, Pollon Takaoka, who is a hacker which has the ability to save and load moments, like the features in a video game.

- Save & Load – The protagonist Pollon possesses an ability called “Save & Load.” If you Save beforehand, you can Load back to the point prior to making a mistake hacking, pissing someone off, dying, and so on. This ability is described as different from time travel or time leaping. What’s different exactly, is that “Save & Load” is rewinding on a universal scale, so time paradoxes don’t occur. This is time travel on the same “time loop,” which makes a big difference in the story
- Hacking Trigger – Allows the player to become a god in a sense, deciding what the main character will do, arbitrarily posing the Load and Save options to the main character. Even if the player uses the Hacking Trigger and poses the Load option to Pollon, it doesn’t mean he will do it, it’s up to Pollon’s judgment. If the player maliciously poses the Load option, it could lead to a bad ending, messing up the timing, or even result in a Game Over brought on by the death of the main characters. Additionally, there is an “Auto Save” feature in both the game and in Pollon’s world. The system screen for the actual game and in-game are the same, and that is a key feature of the title. There is also the “Load Count” feature that counts how many times Pollon Loads, as well as how many times the player loads, which may affect the story in some way
- Character Animation – The character animations use an “e-mote” system, 2D illustrations that move according to the selected e-mote
