December is just around the corner. Of course, when December comes we always think about Christmas. But some of the peeps from the video game industry anticipate the upcoming The Game Awards.

Geoff Keighley‘s annual video game award event is now on its fifth year and the nominees for this year’s The Game Awards have been announced. The nominees were dominated by Sony Santa Monica’s God of War and Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2. Both of these AAA titles garnered eight nominations across all gaming categories.

God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2 were nominated for the Game of the Year along with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Celeste, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Monster Hunter: World. Other multi-nominated games are the indie game Celeste, Ubisoft’s Assassins Creed: Odyssey and Fornite with four nominations each. Meanwhile, Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Destiny 2 were garnered with three nominations.

The Game Awards 2018 is coming this December 6 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. You can watch the full show on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, Mixer, Steam TV, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Live. You can now vote for your favorites here.
