Last October, Idea Factory and Compile Heart released the PS4 exclusive JRPG, Varnir of the Dragon Star: Ecdysis of the Dragon, in Japan, with no word for localization in the West. However, in November, Idea Factory International confirmed that they will be bringing Varnir of the Dragon Star: Ecdysis of the Dragon to the West with a new name entitled, Dragon Star Varnir.
The company will be releasing the game as a PS4 exclusive as well in North America and Europe, digitally and physically sometime in 2019.
Furthermore, Idea Factory also confirmed that the western release for the game features both Japanese and English voice-overs and English subtitle.
Dragon Star Varnir takes place in a world where witches are cursed to give birth to dragons. A Knight named Zephy is part of an order who sworn to hunt witches to put an end on an evil empire and a wicked witch.
One day, during his mission, Knight Zephy almost lost his life. But, with the help of two mysterious witches, his life was saved from the brink of death by feeding him dragon blood, which gave him magical abilities. Since then, he soon finds his fate intertwined with the witches and reluctantly joins them to battle against an Empire out to destroy his kind, vicious dragon hunters, and a witch more powerful than any in existence.
The fate of a group of witches is in your hands – will you choose to save them or sacrifice them?
