Focus Home Interactive will bring the grim story of two siblings in a battle for survival in A Plague Tale: Innocence. The game publisher debuted last E3 2017. This is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Asobo Studios and it’s coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Last E3 2017, Focus Home Interactive unveiled us the world premiere of this game through the trailer. It gave us a glimpse of how the two siblings will survive in the midst of the rat-filled place. You can watch the teaser trailer below.

The game follows the two main protagonists Amicia de Runes and her little brother Hugo. They both fight together for survival in the darkest era of History. It sets in 14th century France particularly in 1349 where France had apocalyptic plague filled with rats. These rats appeared out of nowhere and now it spreading even greater danger ahead as the plague infects across the cities and countryside. On the run from the Inquisition’s soldier, it’s now to face the survival with other orphans against the army of rats using fire and light.

In this game, a series of survival puzzles to scare away the rats or either you can direct the rats towards the murderous knights. Survive the great danger as the Black Plague is now emerging. You control Amicia de Runes to throw some rocks to break drawbridge chains or stun guards for the rats to ambush. Plus, you can craft as well with the availability of materials you choose.

Last January 24, the game developer Asobo Studios has announced the official release date for the A Plague Tale: Innocence. Folks, it’s coming this May 14th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Along with the official announcement on the release date, Focus Home Interactive has released web series on the game entitled “Roots of Innocence.” This is the episode 1 of the web series. In this video, we get to see the behind the scenes.

A Plague Tale: Innocence releases May 14 – emotional new webseries takes you behind the scenes starting today with Episode 1: Roots of Innocence

A Plague Tale: Innocence is the new own-IP title from Asobo Studio, with a newly-announced release date of May 14, 2019. Asobo are game development veterans who have honed their craft on some of the industry’s biggest projects, and now forge new ground with their own original story of Amicia, Hugo, and the Black Death. Focus Home Interactive will highlight the work of this incredible French team in a new behind-the-scenes webseries, the first episode of which, Roots of Innocence, is available now.

This first episode focuses on child siblings Amicia and Hugo, the two main characters of A Plague Tale: Innocence, and their unique bond. These children encounter 14th century France from a similar perspective as the player, an unknown and dangerous place that they barely understand but must survive. As the realities of the world of adults press down on them, their familial love will be tested, and they must work together to overcome the terrifying rat plague and pursuing Inquisition alike.

This episode also introduces you to Charlotte McBurney and Logan Hannan, the young actors who provide voices for Amicia and Hugo. Both are immensely talented and have their own approach to and opinions of these realistic, troubled characters. They were instrumental in the writing process, as they suggested dialogue additions and alternate takes to better fit the children they were embodying. As your constant companions throughout the adventure, their work is as vital as anyone’s to creating a moving, emotional experience that will stick with you long past the first playthrough.
