Last June 2018, the BlazBlue franchise publisher Arc System Works and developer APlus Games have announced that the famous Japanese anime television series turns into an arena fighting game which entitled Kill la Kill The Game: IF (キルラキル ザ・ゲーム -異布-).
During the Anime Expo 2018 in Los Angeles, California last July 2018, the publisher Arc System Works has announced to the world that Kill la Kill The Game: IF is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Steam in Western regions. Meanwhile, in its mother country, it’s coming to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch with an open 2019 release window. The publisher also debuted the first trailer for Kill la Kill The Game: IF. In Evo 2018 via live stream, Arc System Works has showcased the 30-minute demo gameplay of the Kill la Kill The Game: IF. We get to see the adaptation of the anime to a 2D anime-style for 3D video games in the demo. Watch it below via Gematsu.
For a brief background on the famous anime series, Kill la Kill (キルラキル) is a 2013 Japanese anime television series by Studio Trigger. The story follows Ryuko Matoi, a vagrant schoolgirl and she’s on the search on her father’s killer. However, in her search, it begins her conflict between Satsuki Kiryuin, the student council president of Honnouji Academy and her mother’s fashion empire.
In this game, anyone can play because it’s not complicated. It’s a 3D battle action game where you can run around in the arena and fight against your opponent. Utilize your skills as you battle using various movements and attacks. In addition to the basic elements of the game, there are two additional elements which are the Evasion and Evasion Catch Attack. With these, you can now experience deep and intricate interactions in the midst of the battle. The main objective is to obtain the victory against your opponents. You must deplete your opponent’s health bar to zero to grab the victory.

- The Mechanic That Will Bring Back The Spirit of the Animated Series!! Introducing the “Ketsui Testament.” – The “Ketsui Testament” recreates iconic scenes from the original animated series, where characters engage in a heated exchange of words during battle. By pressing L1+R1 during battle and hitting the opponent with the “Ketsui Burst”, you enter into the “Ketsui Testament”. Once activated, each player will choose one from the three rock paper scissors choice of phrases to use as their testament. If the activator results in a win or a draw in this engagement, the winnner’s “Ketsui Level” increases. When the “Ketsui Level” increases, that character receives massive power-ups such as enhanced normal attacks and special moves. At max level, you gain access to the instant kill skill, “Fiber Lost: Secret Arts” (Sen’i Soshitsu Ougi). Ketsui Levels do not decrease during battle
