DOOM Eternal

PS4™ & XONE™ – US & EU

Originally announced at E3 2018, DOOM Eternal by Bethesda Softworks and id Software is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch this year. This upcoming game is a direct sequel to the award-winning and best-selling DOOM (2016). When it was first teased at E3, not much is known about the game except the fact that it will take place on an Earth invaded by the evil forces of Hell.

Finally, director Hugo Martin and director Marty Stratton took the stage at QuakeCon 2018 to unveil the first gameplay of DOOM Eternal to everyone’s eyes.

Gameplay-wise, Eternal will play much like its predecessor, once again testing your skills to fast-paced firefights against an attack of demons. But of course, various changes for the game has been confirmed including the new types of demons that will most likely double the number as compared to the previous game.

If you’re familiar with Doom, Cacodemons, Barons of Hell, Pain Elementals, Arch-Viles, Arachnotrons, Imps, and Revenants are making a comeback to Eternal together with the new demons in the form of reimaginings of enemies from Doom 2, as well as completely new enemies.

Furthermore, Eternal will bring new weapons to the game, but a few old ones from the previous game will return with some subtle modifications. For example, the Plasma Rifle has now the capacity to shoot with orbs that electrify enemies. While some weapons have been lightly changed, others have been fully renewed, like the Ballista, which is a new version of the Gauss Cannon that fires explosive energy bolts.

There will also be a new mode in the game which will be called the invasion mode. In this stage, other players can run and jump into your single-player campaign as demons, basically building hunting parties to take you out.
