Our favorite hedgehog is back on track as Sega will release the spin-off to Sonic the Hedgehog series in Team Sonic Racing. This game is an upcoming kart racing game developed by Sumo Digital, which also worked on the Sonic & Sega All-Racing Racing and All-Stars Racing Transformed. It was rumored last March 17, 2018, that Sonic is on the car racing as on the Tweet below. It features a lot of engine noises and other racing elements.

Then the famous retail store Walmart has put a Switch product list on its website for this game. Following the leak on this particular retail store, Sega officially announced Team Sonic Racing in the following day. With the official reveal, Sega has released the official reveal trailer of this upcoming racing game.

Team Sonic Racing was first initially scheduled for Winter 2018 release. However, Sega has announced for the delay of this racing game from Winter 2019 to May 21, 2019 release window. According to Sega, the reason for the delay is to enhance the quality of the game. So, it’s slow and steady to wait for the release date but still, it’s worth the wait after all. Trust Sega on this one to prepare you the intense ride with our hedgehogs.

So, what’s the game is all about? Team Sonic Racing will combine the best elements for your racing needs with elements of arcade and fast-paced competitive style. You can choose your racer from the 15 playable characters from the Sonic Universe with its three distinct character types which include the Speed, Technique and Power classes. Along with that, you can battle against your friend or online as 12 players per race with four players split screen with different game modes available.

Your cooperation is in need as teamwork is the key to success. Race as a team and win as a team against your opponents using your Team Ultimate to race ahead to the finish line. There are 14 spectacular offensive and defensive items. These items might help your team to win and overcome against the rival teams. Suit up your racing car as customization is available. Make your car on style and on the go with the momentum and agility!

Fasten your seat belts, Asian gamers as Team Sonic Racing will drive to your regions with English and Chinese subtitles available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch this May 21, 2019.
