Konami 50th Anniversary Collections

Who’s up for a retro-classic adventure into the modern console? If you are, Konami got a pleasant surprise for you, folks. To celebrate Konami’s 50th anniversary, Konami announced that they will be releasing Konami 50th Anniversary Collections for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC that will include classic titles from various franchises such as Castlevania, Contra, plus a collection of Arcade classics.

It is also worth noting that these upcoming collections are digital-only releases.

And guess what? Each of the aforementioned classic collections is scheduled to release this year for the consoles and PC.

Arcade Classics Collection

The company’s anniversary collection will kick off with the Arcade Classics that will launch on the 18th of April this year for $19.99. It is a compilation of 8 arcade masterpieces from the 80s. This collection will include enhanced and modern features that will bring these retro glory games into modern gaming life.

Listed below are the titles that will be included in the Konami Anniversary Collection: Arcade Classics.

• Haunted Castle
• A-Jax (aka Typhoon)
• Gradius
• Gradius 2
• Life Force
• Thunder Cross
• Scramble
• TwinBee

Furthermore, according to the game’s official website, this collection will include a bonus eBook packed with new information about the titles, such as interviews with the development staff, behind-the-scenes insights, and sketches and design documents never before revealed to the public!

Castlevania Anniversary Collection

The company will follow its Arcade release with the Castlevania Anniversary Collection which is scheduled to release in early summer. It will include eight classic titles that shaped up the Castlevania series.

Four out of the eight titles are already revealed and can be seen in the list below. The other four titles are still to be announced.

Contra Anniversary Collection

The originator of the run-and-gun genre.

So now, we are down to the last entry in the Konami 50th Anniversary Collections and it is none other than, Contra. Contra Anniversary Collection brings the classic run-and-gun genre back to the modern platforms for old and new gamers alike.

This collection will include eight titles. So far, four titles are already revealed and can be seen in the list below.
