Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation

Earlier this month, Idea Factory International announced that Compile Heart’s Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation will be released in June in the west for PlayStation 4. However, at that time, no exact release date for the game has been announced.

But that’s about to change now as the company recently unveiled that Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation will launch on June 18 in North America and June 21 in Europe. On the other hand, the date for the PC version release will be announced at a later time.

Yoshino

Also known as “Hermit”. She is the second Spirit whom Shido saves. She is calm and reserved, preferring to let her puppet friend, “Yoshinon,” speak for her with levity and jokes. Given the number of Spirits with strong personalities, Yoshino’s presence is something of an oasis for Shido’s heart. The angel she manifests is “Zadkiel.”

Tokisaki Kurumi

Also known as Nightmare. So far, she is the only Spirit that Shido was unable to save, which makes her The Worst Spirit. Although most Spirits enter the human world by accident, she is a special entity who can travel between worlds at will. Make no mistake, there is some method to her madness. Her motives, however, are not yet clear. The angel she manifests is Zafkiel.

Game Overview

Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation is a collection of the series’ three visual novels including Date A Live: Rinne Utopia, Date A Live: Arusu Install, and Date A Live Twin Edition: Rio Reincarnation. It only means that there are 11 characters to date and over 150 dating events. Also, it is worth noting that it will still have the same gameplay from the original Japanese version.

More so, this upcoming collection will feature Japanese voice-overs and English subtitles for the PS4 version. While the PC version will get the same language features, it will receive an additional Traditional Chinese for the subtitle.

But that’s not all, the visual novel collection will also include in-game bonus extras such as drama CDs and special books (with thumbnail mode page skip and zoom features).

Furthermore, due to the recent changes in Sony’s policy, the sexual content of the PlayStation 4 version is confirmed to be modified, or in its generic term in this case, “censored.” On the other hand, the PC version will be completely uncensored.

Story

The story of DATE A LIVE begins thirty years after a series of large disasters, known as Spacequakes, that were caused by the appearance of mysterious entities known as Spirits. Shido Itsuka, an average high school student, finds a Spirit who despairs of humanity.

Shido is later told by his younger sister, Kotori, that he alone owns the gift to seal the power of a Spirit. In order to defend the earth, and to save the Spirits, Shido is determined to do whatever he can at all cost. No matter what obstacle he may encounter, he is ready to face the Spirits head-on!
