Psikyo Collection Vol. 3 isn’t released yet, however, another Psikyo juicy bundle is currently in the works, courtesy of Japanese publisher City Connection. Presenting, Psikyo Shooting Library Vol. 1 & 2!

Psikyo Shooting Library Vol. 1 is scheduled to release on July 25th this year followed by its Vol. 2 on August 29th, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

Just like the previous Psikyo collections, Psikyo Shooting Library includes popular Psikyo games from the good old days. This time, from the title itself, the collection comes packed with Psikyo shooting games both old and new fans alike will surely love.

Furthermore, the games included in both bundles are various Psikyo games originally released for the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop.

As of the moment, no news has been revealed if the collections will be having English language support. We’ll keep you updated!

Let’s get to know the two collections better.


Psikyo Shooting Library Vol. 1

Strikers 1945

A revolution broke out in shooting games in 1995. The Japanese brand “Psikyo” introduced a new enemy’s attack, “Spread bullets” not seen before then, and the history of a new shooting game began. It is a vertical scrolling shoot ’em up arcade game developed and published by Psikyo in 1995.

Strikers 1945 II

Striker 1945 II is another vertical-scrolling shoot ’em up game developed by Psikyo. You choose one of the six World War II-era fighter planes to fight through the eight stages. The Strikers demolish the forces of C.A.N.Y. However, the C.A.N.Y has a new technology to take over global welfare with massive mecha technology. The Strikers are on the move to save the world.

Strikers 1999

Relive the ultra-difficult “Psikyo” Shoot ’em up experience! Make use of your fighter’s weapons and make your way through a chaotic dogfight!!

Strikers 1999 is a shoot ’em up game developed and published by Psikyo in 1999. The game features various attacks such as Shots, Super Shots, and Support Attacks that will aid you through a chaotic dogfight. You can check out other features of the game below.

  • Historical piston fighters, such as the P-38 Lightning, are ready to rumble!
  • A state of the art arcade shoot ’em up from the masters of the genre, Psikyo.
  • Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time.

Sol Divide

Sol Divide is a side-scrolling shooting game set in a fantasy world filled with dragons, wizards, gryphons, and armored knights as your opponent. Also, it is worth noting that this game actually has a storyline, which is very unusual from other shooting games. Here in this game, you’re able to choose from three playable characters each with different skills and abilities: Tyora, Kashon & Vorg.

Are you ready to face a myriad of monsters and enemies along the way? The tale of magic, sword, and vengeance starts now!!

Dragon Blaze

Dragon Blaze is like many typical 2D vertical shooters by Psikyo. Although this game is much similar to the bullet hell genre than most of the company’s other games. Plus, the color of the opponents’ bullets in the game has been changed from Psikyo’s trademark orange to a neon purple.

There are four characters in this game: Quaid, Sonia, Ian, and Rob. Each character can make use of the game’s standard normal shot, charged shot, and magic bomb. Furthermore, these characters also ride a dragon, which can be dismounted and used as a weapon itself.

The dismounted dragon originally acts as a sharp weapon, and then remains stationary shooting until the player calls it back. It can also be used to collect items.

Zero Gunner 2

Let’s blast off every enemy’s planes from various sides of your screen. Fans who have enjoyed Psikyo Shooting will definitely enjoy this Zero Gunner 2.

Psikyo Shooting Library Vol. 2

Sengoku Ace

This game takes you to the Sengoku period. The game centers around the six feudal Japan characters sent on a mission to end an evil cult and save the Shogun’s kidnapped daughter, Princess Tsukihime (Moon Princess). The evil cult will use the princess as a sacrifice to resurrect their demon god. Now, the group of heroes must save her and stop their evil plot.

The game features 21 different endings for various characters and two-player pairings. Plus, this game features unique characters including a fish with a human-looking face, a daruma, a female ninja, a Buddhist priest, the last boss, and a dog. Bizarre.

Sengoku Blade

Sengoku Blade or also known as Tengai outside Japan is a horizontal-scrolling shoot ’em up that takes place in a fantasy and futuristic version of Feudal Japan. A militaristic cult Shinrano is doing a ritual to resurrect their dark god. With this, they need a sacrifice. They kidnapped the Shogun’s daughter, Princess Futsu, believing that the princess’ soul is the last key for the demon’s body to be completed.

Now, the princess’ life is in your hands. Save her and stop the cult’s evil plot! The game features branching storyline and numerous endings, depending on the chosen character.

Sengoku Cannon

Two years have passed since the settling of the soul hunting incident in which human souls were transplanted into mechanical bodies. As people were gradually recovering from the pain sustained, a new incident took place. One day, the puppet soldiers who should have disappeared, the fortress suddenly appears again. In order to unravel the truth behind the whole incident, a group of people took upon themselves to embrace the Hisouseki…

Gunbird

This game is a vertical shooter that uses a manga-styled character as the player’s preferred craft. A story plays out in between levels and before boss fights, telling a tale of how the protagonists are striving to accumulate pieces of a magic mirror to make a wish.

Gunbird 2

Gunbird2 is a 2D scrolling shooter developed by Psikyo. There are seven warriors that are challenged to head on a quest to find the three powerful elements of the Sun, Moon, and Stars. Whoever finds those magical elements will be granted the handed-down Almighty Potion and its benefits.

Gunbarich

Gunbarich is a 2001 arcade title which was released for the Nintendo Switch last 2017 via the Nintendo eShop. Your ultimate goal in this game is to remove all the colorful blocks that you see on your screen to move on to the next stage. More so, each new stage provides a different arrangement of blocks for you to destroy. The game features seven worlds for you to work through that is consists of three levels.

Although you are repeatedly clearing blocks for the entire game, each world has a unique set of features and enemies for you to overcome. In fact, the third level of each world features the boss fight.

Enjoy the good music and vibrant visual design of Gunbarich that adds up to the overall appeal of the game. Defeat various enemies, and overcome multiple hazards as you destroy all those colorful blocks.
