Our girl Isabelle is back! Who else is as excited as we are for the Animal Crossing’s debut on the Nintendo Switch?
During Nintendo’s latest and special Nintendo Direct at E3 2019, we finally got the most-awaited news for the highly-anticipated Animal Crossing. The game will debut on Nintendo Switch with a brand new name, Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
What to Expect?
The game brings you on a deserted island with a bucket full of new features that await you in your new adventure. From building, designing your house from scratch, crafting tools, to taking pictures with your Nook Phone and so much more. Yes, you will now own a mobile phone!
But, of course, our mortgage guy, Tom Nook, still plays a big role in the game. In the trailer revealed at E3, Tom Nook was shown charging the player a sum of over 49,000 Bells for the taxes, accommodation, airfare, the Nook Phone, and more. Ah, Nook never changed.
Furthermore, one of the many new elements of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the pole vaulting. And it looks like it is the easiest way for you to get over a river without a bridge nearby.
Moreover, your mobile phone in this game will be called NookPhone. It is included in your Deserted Island Getaway Package from Tom Nook of Nook Inc. You can use it to access an in-game Camera, view Nook Miles, DIY Recipes, open the Map, and use the Call Islander option to host another Deserted Island resident via local co-op and help you assist with certain tasks.
Also, the in-game Camera of your NookPhone contains a feature that can be found in real life phone cameras– filters. Yes, you read that right. You can apply filters on your photos and can even decorate it a little bit more with some facial expressions. Strike a pose!
Plus, as to what have been mentioned earlier, there will be crafting in this game which is a big component of the mobile game Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. Crafting looks like a significant feature in the game as you can make your own tools and other items out of woods that can be found through shaking trees.
Also, in the video, we got to see the game in all its glory: fishing, gardening, making friends, and more. And something to keep in mind, you need to clean up your island to attract more animal villagers to move into your little vista.
Now, talking about the return of Isabelle, her appearance in the game depends on your progression. This information was disclosed in an exclusive interview of IGN with Aya Kyogoku and Hisashi Nogami of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons development team.
Kyogoku continued, “If Tom Nook is a great recruiter, and if he succeeds with the Nook Inc. Deserted Island Getaway Package PR, then she may come back.” Also, it has been reported that Isabelle’s appearance may also depend on how much debt the players have paid back, Nogami said.
Unfortunately, Nintendo announced that they have to push back the release date of Animal Crossing: New Horizons to March 20, 2020 to its previously 2019 release window to ensure that the game hits the quality levels Nintendo requires. “We must ask you to wait a little later than we thought,” the company said in a statement.
Nevertheless, if you want to secure your copies as early as now, we’re glad to announce the Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available to pre-order here at Playasia! Click the button below to reserve yours.
