Are you a fan of the adorable and longest-running harvest moon series? If you’ve been a supporter of this series since day one, Marvelous has some sweet surprise for you, folks.

The beloved Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town Game Boy Advance classic has been confirmed for a Nintendo Switch remake in Japan and Asia this Fall as seen in the Japanese magazine, Famitsu.

As of the time of writing, very little has been revealed for the upcoming remake of the game. But, it has been reported that it will incorporate elements from Friends of Mineral Town and More Friends of Mineral Town. More so, several new screenshots of the game were shown, revealing one of the most significant changes in this upcoming remake — a new 3D world of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town from its original 2D world.

Game Overview

In case you’re not familiar with Harvest Moon, it is a legendary farming-sim franchise that lets you build your own farm, run it, grow crops, nurture animals, and even flirt with the locals in the hope of finding your ideal partner. Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, in particular, was released way back in 2003 on the Game Boy Advance. The game lets you play as Pete, a young man who inherits a farm from a recently deceased pen pal. Your goal in the game is to turn the farm’s fortune around by producing crops and raising livestock.

History

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town is a remade version of Harvest Moon: Back to Nature PlayStation game and is the first Game Boy Advance game of the Harvest Moon series. Now, the game is ready to spread its wings to Nintendo’s latest handheld console on the 17th of October in Japan and Asia.

Western Release

Worry not though western fans, Xseed Games also confirmed that they got the publishing rights to release the game in North America as Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. However, it still unclear if it’s going to be a physical or digital release. Meanwhile, Marvelous Europe has no word yet if they are going to release the game in the European regions.
