遊☆戯☆王 or Yu-Gi-Oh! as it is much renowned worldwide is since the mid-90s one of the most popular series around. Formed by the terms Yūgi (game) & Oh (king); its title translation means “king of the game”, in addition, Yūgi is also the name of the protagonist. So we have a couple of possible translations: king of games or king Yugi!
The birth of this phenomenon is due to Kazuki Takahashi, a Japanese mangaka who has published it on the hugely popular Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. Other than the manga series; Yu-Gi-Oh! acquired more popularity through the nine anime series, and the legendary trading card game.
