Originally, Trials of Mana was released way back in 1995 as Seiken Densetsu 3 for the Super Famicom and is considered as a Super Famicom Classic. It is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square which is now known as Square Enix. It is the third installment in the Mana series, and the sequel to the 1993 game, Secret of Mana.
More so, Seiken Densetsu 3 is one of the many games in Japan that didn’t make it to West. But, through an unofficial English fan translation released in 2000, English-speaking players had the opportunity to play and experience the game.
Now that 2019 has come, Seiken Densetsu officially made its way to the West as Collection of Mana which will be released on August 27th. Meanwhile, Trials of Mana remake for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC is ready for its worldwide release in early 2020.
You can check out the game overview below.
When the world was shrouded in darkness, the Goddess of Mana drew forth the Sword of Mana to smite the eight Benevodons, monsters of destruction. She sealed the horrors inside the eight Mana Stones, bringing the realm back from the brink. Weakened from rebuilding the world, the Goddess changed herself into a tree and fell into a deep sleep for many years. However, the forces of evil soon sought to free the Benevodons to gain control of the world. They started a terrible war to further their plot and destabilize the kingdoms. Peace was at an end. Mana itself began to disappear from the world and the Mana Tree started to wither.
