Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered

PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch Ι Genre: Emotional Fairy Tale

Studio Ghibli…almost everyone know it. Founded in 1985 by Hayao Miyazaki & Isao Takahata; two of the most important personalities in the global animation industry, from this studio dozens of the most poetic, and visually astonishing opuses have been released. Titles like My Neighbor Totoro, Pom Poko, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya came alive in the city of Koganei, and in a very short time conquered the world.
Helped by a bevy of extraordinary animators, colorers, and illustrators; Studio Ghibli’s movies entered into the common imagination, contributing to increasing the popularity of anime at a global level. Using hand-drawing in a very massive way, in fact if you watch their movies, you’ll see some CGI parts, but they never exceed the 10% of the full film; through the years Studio Ghibli won many important awards including the Golden Bear & the Oscar for Spirited Away, the Mimmo Rotella Foundation Award at Venice Film Festival for Ponyo, and the Hollywood Film Awards’ Animation of the Year for Howl’s Moving Castle, but that’s not all, in fact, this studio won – so far – something like 120 prizes both in Japan and abroad.

Due to its importance; an incursion in the gaming field was compulsory. So in 2011, the first Studio Ghibli’s videogame has been released for PlayStation 3: Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch!
Oliver is a young boy who lives in Motorville; one day he and his best friend Philip tried their new creation, a vehicle capable to reach high speed, unfortunately, it was too powerful for them, and eventually, it ran off the road. Oliver’s mother saves her son, but the effort was too heavy for her heart, and after a short time she died due to heart complications. Oliver became an orphan, and the last reminder of her mother is a doll.
But in the realm of Studio Ghibli, things can take an unexpected turn suddenly. And this is exactly what’s happening to Oliver; indeed the doll is not what it seems, but it is a familiar called Drippy that reveal him that the soulmate of his mother is in danger, and the only way to rescue her is travel to the world known as Ni no Kuni.
