9 Monkeys of Shaolin is an upcoming old school action beat’em up video game by publisher Buka Entertainment and developer Sobaka Studio.
The game setting is a combination of real history with mysticism and fables customary in the Chinese fantasy genre of Wuxia. Also, it adheres to some historical events, places, weapons, and characters as much as possible with magic, supernatural beings, and other fantasy elements.
The game was announced at Game Developers Conference 2018. A demo version was also shown during Gamescom 2018 as well as in IgroMir2018. It received the Critic’s choice award at GDP Indie Cup 2018 and Grand Prize, Best Desctop, Excellence in Game Design, Visual Art, Audio nominees at DevGAMM Awards.

As a mere Chinese fisherman Wei Cheng, you have to avenge the death of your friends and family slaughtered in a pirate raid at your peaceful village. The games’ protagonist is quite a tough nut to crack as he knows the basics of ancient martial arts only mastered by legendary Shaolin monks. Get your trusty battle staff ready for a challenging adventure in Medieval China and for merciless fights with hordes of various enemies.
