Prototype got the publishing rights to release a Nintendo Switch port of one of Key’s visual novels in Japan. And it is none other than Little Busters! Converted Edition. And believe it or not, it is coming to Nintendo’s flagship console sooner than everyone thinks. The publisher revealed that the Switch version of Little Busters! Converted Edition is heading to Japan on April 23, 2020.
But, that’s not all. The Switch version will give players the option to toggle between English and Japanese text. A Japanese release with English support?! Yes, you got it right, folks. The Switch version will feature an extra event, higher resolution images, and full touchscreen control support. Plus, players can also play the game with one hand in table and TV modes via a single Joy-Con (R).
In addition, the Busterpedia will also be available in the Switch port of the game. In case you’re not familiar with it, Busterpedia is an in-game encyclopedia that explains various Japanese culture terms used in the game.
Game Overview
In Little Busters, players will step into the shoes of an orphaned boy named Riki. Riki lost his parents when he was still at a young age, leaving him in the darkest days of his life filled with hopelessness and desperation. One day, a light of hope struck his life when a group of kids calling themselves as the “Little Busters” saved him from misery. Riki really needed this kind of companionship especially during his time of need. The Little Busters and Riki hang out together and enjoyed each other’s company, leading to the protagonist’s recovery as his grief gradually fades away.
Riki is now in his second year of high school and still hangs out with the Little Busters. They live together, fight, make new potential love interests, and enjoy their school life. But, the world that they all inhabit is clothed with mystery. What could be its big secret?
History
Little Busters! Converted Edition was first released in 2009 for PS2 followed by a PSP port in 2010 and PS Vita version in 2012. After a year, it was also ported to PS3. 4 years after, the game made its way out of Japan for its English localization on PC via Steam. Now, Little Busters! Converted Edition is ready to spread its amazing visual novel gameplay experience for a set of new audience!
