遊☆戯☆王 or Yu-Gi-Oh! as it is much renowned worldwide is since the mid-90s one of the most popular series around. Formed by the terms Yūgi (game) & Oh (king); its title translation means “king of the game”, also, Yūgi is also the name of the protagonist. So we have a couple of possible translations: the king of games or king Yūgi!
The birth of this phenomenon is due to Kazuki Takahashi, a Japanese mangaka who has published it on the hugely popular Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. Initially intended as a horror manga series; in just a few months Yu-Gi-Oh! turned into a card-battle series, and thanks to this brilliant intuition; it became one of the most beloved IPs ever.

Yūgi Mutō is a clever loner teenager whose favorite hobby is to play difficult puzzles; one day he solved an ancient Egyptian game known as Millenium Puzzle, and due to this, he evokes the puzzle’s soul, a long-forgotten spirit called Antem. Hungry for even more challenges; Yūgi starts to compete in a large number of Battle Card Tournament to show everyone his ability, and above all, make new friends.  A new kind of hero is born, and thanks to his unbeatable play-style he can also solve even the most complex & troubling situations a boy can face.

Other than the manga series; Yu-Gi-Oh! Acquired more popularity through the anime series, and the legendary trading card game. Launched in 1999 by Konami; this multi-billion sold game (is estimated that more than 25 billion cards have been sold until today) entered the 2009’s Guinness World Records as the top-selling trading card game ever released. There are three kinds of cards: Monster, Spell & Trap; each of them can be used to summon creatures or items that if well linked together can allow the player to smash the opponent in no time.
