DOOM Eternal Rip and Tear Franchise Sales Record With its Successful Launch Week!

id Software and Bethesda Softworks‘ first-person-shooter, DOOM Eternal made its successful launch last week for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. In fact, both companies are pleased to announce that DOOM Eternal has surpassed the launch week sales of the franchise’s 2016 entry, DOOM.
In a recent press release, Bethesda unveiled that DOOM Eternal has proven its capacity for acquiring twice as much as DOOM 2016’s launch week. So, that means, DOOM Eternal has “rip and tear” the franchise sales record! At the same time, the best shooter of 2020 so far has gone beyond 100,000 concurrent PC players, making it the best-selling PC game during its release window.

Gameplay
Eternal will play much like its predecessor. It will test your skills to fast-paced firefights against an attack of demons. But of course, various changes for the game have been confirmed. This includes the new type of demons that will most likely double the number as compared to the previous game.
More so, if you’re familiar with Doom, Cacodemons, Barons of Hell, Pain Elementals, Arch-Viles, Arachnotrons, Imps, and Revenants, they are making a comeback to Eternal together with the new demons in the form of reimaginings of enemies from Doom 2. Of course, there will be completely new enemies as well.
Furthermore, Eternal will bring new weapons to the game with a few old ones that will return with some subtle modifications. For example, the Plasma Rifle has now the capacity to shoot with orbs that electrify enemies. While some weapons have been lightly changed, others have been fully renewed, like the Ballista. It is a new version of the Gauss Cannon that fires explosive energy bolts.
Moreover, DOOM Eternal will feature a new mode which will be called the invasion mode. In this stage, other players can run and jump into your single-player campaign as demons, basically building hunting parties to take you out.
