Yes, you read that right. The paper-origami inspired Paper Mario franchise is making its way to the Nintendo Switch for the very first time as Paper Mario: The Origami King. And to make things even more interesting, Nintendo updated its website with a slew of new screenshots.
By the looks of it, it’s not just some fancy screenshots to brag about, yet, it reveals more hint about The Origami King’s colorful world, partner characters, gameplay, and more! Plus, you’ll also find yourself exploring vast oceans, lush jungles, blazing caverns, and more.

The papercraft role-playing game series, Paper Mario is back! For the very first time in the series, Mario will embark on a new journey on the Nintendo Switch. Yes, you read that right. The N64 classic game is finally coming to the modern console of Nintendo as Paper Mario: The Origami King.
And guess what? It’s coming sooner than everyone’s expected. Nintendo uncovered that Paper Mario: The Origami King will land on Switch on July 17th. Furthermore, the announcement was accompanied by a reveal trailer that lasted for over 2 minutes. So, are you ready to take on a new adventure in the paper-thin world but a fun-filled adventure in Paper Mario: The Origami King?

More so, here’s how Nintendo describes the game’s story:
Mario and Luigi receive an invitation from Princess Peach to attend an origami festival and excitedly hurry to Toad Town…but something’s amiss. After investigating the eerily empty town, the duo finds a fearsome (and folded) Princess Peach—she’s been turned into origami by King Olly, ruler of the Origami Kingdom! With five giant streamers under his control, King Olly binds Princess Peach’s Castle and transports it to a distant mountain as part of his plan to re-fold the world.
On his journey to liberate Peach’s Castle and repair the ravaged paper landscape, Mario meets Olivia, King Olly’s sister, and the two join forces to put a stop to Olly’s origami onslaught. Even Bowser falls victim to Olly’s plot when his minions are turned into origami Folded Soldiers and betray their Koopa king, forcing him to ally with Mario and Olivia!
