Pokemon Sword and Shield
Nintendo™ Switch – US, EU & Japan
Nintendo and developer Game Freak revealed a new chunk of information regarding the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield‘s first part of its Expansion Pass: The Isle of Armor. According to both companies, we can expect The Isle of Armor to land on both games on June 17th to be followed by its second part — The Crown Tundra with a Fall 2020 release.
Meanwhile, we’ve learned that the first part of the expansion will bring players into a new accessible part of Galar Region that will be called Isle of Armor. Players will encounter new environments such as beaches and sand dunes. Moreover, it will feature a new dojo meant for developing new skills governed by a master identified as Mustard. It will also provide a new recycling function called Cram-o-matic.
Furthermore, the Pokemon Company also revealed the existence of Galarian Slowbro in the new video below.
What to Expect?
Continue reading below to learn more about the new features straight from the developer.
Cram-o-matic — The dojo on the Isle of Armor houses a unique take on recycling in the form of a device called the Cram-o-matic. If players feed it four items, it will combine them and give out a new item in exchange. Trainers can receive any of a variety of items, including Poké Balls, PP Ups, and more. Some combinations might even produce rare items.
Tutor Moves — Completely new tutor moves will also be available on the Isle of Armor. Trainers can have their Pokémon learn them in exchange for Armorite Ore, a substance that can be found on the Isle of Armor through Max Raid Battles and other means. Burning Jealousy is a new Fire-type move that can be taught starting with these expansions. When it hits, it deals damage to all opposing Pokémon and burns all opposing Pokémon that have had their stats boosted during the turn. Grassy Glide is a new Grass-type move that can be taught starting with these expansions. This move has high priority when used on Grassy Terrain.
Max Soup — Max Soup is a special dish made from rare ingredients you can gather on the Isle of Armor. If a Pokémon with great hidden potential drinks Max Soup, it will become a special Pokémon capable of Gigantamaxing. Some Pokémon that Trainers are already traveling with may also gain the ability to Gigantamax.

Pokemon Sword and Shield will feature massive stadiums for battles to take place and new Pokemon characters such as Wooloo the sheep, Gossifleur the cute little flower, Corviknight the flying taxi, and Drednaw the snapping turtle. It was also revealed in the special Pokemon Direct that a pair of legendary monsters will also be joining the game — Zacian and Zamazenta. In fact, these two are the characters designed around the theme of the sword and shield game.
Moreover, one of the core elements in the game is the Dynamax feature. It is a temporary transformation that can be activated in a given battle as a move. Using the Dynamax will allow your Pokemon to grow as giants with maximized power.
Furthermore, you can call up to three of your friends and play together in the multiplayer mode where up to four players can team up to defeat one of the massive creatures in the game.
