Established in 1955 as Nakamura Seisakusho; the NAkamura Manufacturing COmpany is one of the most important companies in the whole gaming industry.
At the very beginning, its founder, Masaya Nakamura, was the owner of a couple of mechanical rocking horse rides who were present on a roof garden of a department store in Yokohama.

But in 1973 that all changed; Nakamura-san discovered that a new type of entertainment appeared in the other part of the ocean. The distribution of Atari’s Pong in Japan ignited an actual revolution; kicking off to the so-called Golden Age of video games in the Land of the Rising Sun.

As an official partner of Atari, many Japanese people could discover this new kind of media that in the following decades becomes the most popular one at the global level. Anyway in 1978; Namco released the first title wholly developed internally; Gee Bee!
A hybrid pinball simulation/block breaker machine that, despite very little success, helped the company to enter this new business prior to its following competitors.
