Paper Mario: The Origami King is releasing next month and Nintendo has just dropped an information-packed trailer for it. The new video lasted for about 5 minutes and details mostly about its battle system, mini-games, and the new paper crafted universe we are about the explore soon. 

A heroic adventure unfolds!

Join Mario in a new adventure in search of the end of 5 ribbons that unfurled Peach’s castle. Traverse through different locations such as a forest spring, autumn-hued mountain, a desert oasis, an underground sewer, and a ninja-filled mansion!

Get ready to face untold trials in this new paper universe while wielding mighty paper techniques! Help Mario uncover new paths, explore vast regions, and discover secrets! But, that’s not all. Paper Mario: The Origami King lets you play with adorable mini-games along the way! Take center stage, go on an island-hopping, appear on a quiz show, and even engage in an aerial battle. 

Of course, how can an adventure be complete without companions? The new trailer also introduces us to the colorful cast including Olivia, Bobby, Kamek, and the historian Professor Toad. 

Ring-based Battles

Make contact with an enemy to start a battle! This game features Spin and Slide where you can arrange your enemies according to your liking. Once you’re done lining them up, choose the right weapon then attack! Just make sure to get the foes in line before the time’s up. Of course, boss battles are present too!

The papercraft role-playing game series, Paper Mario is back! For the very first time in the series, Mario will embark on a new journey on the Nintendo Switch. Yes, you read that right. The N64 classic game is finally coming to the modern console of Nintendo as Paper Mario: The Origami King.

And guess what? It’s coming sooner than everyone’s expected. Nintendo uncovered that Paper Mario: The Origami King will land on Switch on July 17th. Furthermore, the announcement was accompanied by a reveal trailer that lasted for over 2 minutes. More so, here’s how Nintendo describes the game’s story:

Mario and Luigi receive an invitation from Princess Peach to attend an origami festival and excitedly hurry to Toad Town…but something’s amiss. After investigating the eerily empty town, the duo finds a fearsome (and folded) Princess Peach—she’s been turned into origami by King Olly, ruler of the Origami Kingdom! With five giant streamers under his control, King Olly binds Princess Peach’s Castle and transports it to a distant mountain as part of his plan to re-fold the world.

On his journey to liberate Peach’s Castle and repair the ravaged paper landscape, Mario meets Olivia, King Olly’s sister, and the two join forces to put a stop to Olly’s origami onslaught. Even Bowser falls victim to Olly’s plot when his minions are turned into origami Folded Soldiers and betray their Koopa king, forcing him to ally with Mario and Olivia!
