Since 1982 the Hori family is an actual authority in the field of drilling.
All is started thanks to the intuition of Mr. Taizo Hori; traveling from country to country he helped millions of people to clear out the subsoil from the invasions of Pooka,  Fygar, and many other creatures who have elected the underground as their homes.
Armed only with an air-pumping harpoon; Hori-san (known also as Dig Dug), thanks to his positive attitude and hard-working, become a true champion of humankind.

Due to his huge popularity; he is appeared in dozens of video games, as protagonist or as a guest star, magazines, and even in the full-length movie Wreck-It Ralph. A so respected personality can only expand his activities to the highest levels possible. Together with his son Susumu, and his close friends Chuta Bigbang & Wataru Hoshi; he formed the legendary Star Trigon Team. Initially created to help the intelligent race of Undergrounders; this band of heroes arrived where no man has ever gone before. Anyway, at the end of the 20^th century, more precisely in November 1999, Susumu-kun started his own career as a driller when Mr. Driller appeared in the arcades of Japan before, and of the rest of the world immediately after.

The heir of Taizo-san continues the family tradition for more than 20 years. At that time thousands of mysterious colored blocks started to appear in the subsoil of our planet. From Japan to the Moon, drilling through Egypt, India, and U.S.A., Susumu Hori got his worldwide renowned Mr. Driller’s nickname and saved a lot of Undergrounders.
Thanks to its extremely good gameplay system, graphics style, and soundtrack, the Mr. Driller series is still very popular among a huge number of gamers; featuring a different kind of fun, we can play with 16 titles released for many systems including Dreamcast, PlayStation, Xbox 360, Mobile devices, and now also for Nintendo Switch.
