But, its cultural influence made itself felt even in the daily life activities of companies, sports teams, and even simple shops.

Obviously, even if this is a very popular book, it’s not the only one; indeed, during the centuries hundreds of generals and strategists have compiled their own treatise; so, in the vast world of military studies, we can learn the way of thinking of the most important personalities of human history. From Julius Caesar (Commentarii de Bello Gallico) to T. E. Lawrence (Seven Pillars of Wisdom) passing through the Indian teacher Chanakya (Arthashastra), the Italian Renaissance diplomat Niccolò Machiavelli (Dell’arte Della Guerra), the Prussian general Carl von Clausewitz (Vom Kriege), and many other ones who left a trail in the field of history and philosophy.

Each author gave his personal opinion about what the war is; speculating on its causes, objectives, and consequences. There are as many schools of thoughts as many people live on Earth, but one thing is certain; even if not present in our nature; war is one of the most favorite activities of humankind; indeed the Greek philosopher Heraclitus declared that “war is the father of all things”. Even in-game industry, this cultural heritage is present in several titles, but one of the most prominent series is undoubtedly The Legend of Heroes!

Created by Nihon Falcom in 1989 with Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes for NEC PC-8801; gradually it changes its setting from traditional fantasy stories to more political ones. Until now there are 14 titles spanned in 5 sub-series (Dragon Slayer, Gagharv trilogy, Trails in the Sky, Trails – Crossbell & Trails of Cold Steel). The last one especially is the most played globally; built by four episodes the firsts three have been already translated in English, while the fourth will be released on October 27.
