Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, personalities such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Nick Fury come to new life. But since 1963 many other superheroes and superheroines gave their contribution to keep our planet safe from the attacks of terrestrial or galactic menaces. Every time someone endangers the Earth, the Avengers, the greatest team of costumed champions, leave their base located at 721 Fifth Avenue in New York City to reach the farther point of the multiverse.
Developed two years later the appearance of the very first team of superheroes known as The Fantastic Four; Stan Lee and Jack Kirby wanted to offer something new to all the Marvel Comics’ readers.

And yes, The Avengers is absolutely different from everything else; teaming up the mightiest stars of the newsstands, originally they joined the forces to fight against Hulk, who eventually has been invited to become a member and a precious ally. But it’s only in September 1963 that all have started; when the original team composed by Thor, Ant-Man, Hulk & Iron Man faced Loki.
As you have noticed there is an important member hero who is missing: Captain America; this is not a mistake, in fact, the patriotic supersoldier will appear only in issue #4 entitled “Captain America Lives Again!”. Considered one of the milestones in Marvel’s multiverse; in this story, Jack Kirby brought to a second life the most popular character of the golden age implementing a true revolution not only in comics but in the whole entertainment industry.

But Avengers is not only a carrier of superfabulous stories, they are filled also with profound thoughts about the meaning of war, peace, heroism, and all that is in the middle…
During their lessons at Avengers Academy, Tigra and Hank Pym teach to all the aspiring superheroes the Superhuman Ethics; in there the super students learn how to manage the various daily interactions that any Avenger is called to manage with a specific focus on conflicts. But in the whole multiverse, we may find two primary currents of thought: the Utilitarism of Iron Man, and the Duty above All Else of Captain America.

Seeing the world very differently; for Tony Stark, the end always justifies the means even if this leads to break the rules and to negative consequences, while for Steve Rogers the morality of the actions is in the first place even this could jeopardize the outcome of the mission.

Avengers are no more; blamed as the responsible for the partial destruction of San Francisco, they have been forced to be disbanded.
