Umineko When They Cry Saku: Nekobako to Musou no Koukyoukyoku

The newest entry in the When They Cry series.
It is scheduled for a 2021 launch for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Higurashi When They Cry or also known as When They Cry series is returning to the gaming world! The best part? The newest entry is now designed for the current-gen consoles and will be titled, Umineko When They Cry Saku: Nekobako to Musou no Koukyoukyoku.

So, if you’ve been waiting for the new game in the series, this is something to look forward too! As of the time of writing, Umineko When They Cry Saku: Nekobako to Musou no Koukyoukyoku is slated for a January 28, 2021 release for both PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

More so, players can choose between the Standard and Limited Edition of the game. The Limited Edition comes with a different box art featuring the game’s witches.

So, are you ready to unearth the mystery of every murder happening on Kinzo Ushiromiya’s Rokkenjima island? Who will inherit the wealth of Kinzo Ushiromiya? Who could be the culprit? Is it a person or a witch?

Here’s a quick overview of the game:

Umineko no Naku Koro ni takes place in the year 1986 during the time frame of October 4 and October 5 on a secluded island named Rokkenjima. The head of a wealthy family named Kinzō Ushiromiya, who lives on and owns Rokkenjima, is near death, and eleven of his family members arrive on the island to discuss how Kinzō’s assets will be divided once he is dead. Also on the island are five of Kinzō’s servants and his personal physician. After the eleven family members arrive, a typhoon traps them on the island, and shortly after people start to get mysteriously murdered.
