First announced during the Xbox Games Showcase at Microsoft’s Online Conference on July 23, 2020, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is now finally in the process of collating user feedback about the upcoming game through its Closed Beta.
The registration started on April 21 and is made accessible to all registered participants until May 16, 2021. The Closed Beta’s purpose is broken down into three important elements:
(1) Testing the overall fundamental game system
(2) Server stress verification
(3) ARKS Cash and Star Gem operation test
During the Closed Beta, participating players will have the opportunity to experience the game’s fundamental system and share their opinions and requests afterward. As promised by the development team, after the end of beta tests, they will publish their measures regarding design changes or adjustments and implement them by the official launch, with subsequent updates.
In case you missed it, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is the latest entry in the Phantasy Star Online series. It is an updated version of PSO2 mainly improving its game system and graphics engine in commemoration of its 20th anniversary.

Pre-orders for the Standard and Limited Edition of the game’s Nintendo Switch version are now open for pre-order. The limited edition includes a mini soundtrack and a special illustrated box.
