Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced Full Metal Panic! Fight! Who Dares Wins for the PlayStation 4, a strategy RPG based on the popular anime television series, movie, and manga. The game will launch with English language options (subtitles) in Asia this May 31st! There are currently no stated plans for a Western release. Development for the game is being handled by B.B. Studio, the same developer behind the comparable Super Robot Wars series.
This is the very first standalone release of a Full Metal Panic! game! English version releases the same day as Japan!
Not only is Full Metal Panic! Fight! Who Dares Wins the first English video game release in the franchise, but is the very first standalone console release for the Full Metal Panic! franchise across the board!
For those unfamiliar with the source material, the Full Metal Panic! series is a sci-fi action classic where military, robots, and school life collide in an overwhelming scale! In a war-hardened world, Black Technology has led to a proliferation of humanoid weapons known as Arm Slaves. The story centers around a mercenary group called ‘Mithril’ on a parallel Earth in which the Cold War did not end in 1991. Sōsuke Sagara, a seventeen year old military specialist working for Mithril, has been assigned to go undercover to protect high school student Kaname Chidori.
Players will experience the fierce battle between Mithril, the world’s strongest armed force, and “Amalgam,” known for controlling events from behind the scenes. Combat is in the form of controlling “Arm Slaves” or humanoid weapons.
Fans of the series will also be getting their Full Metal Panic! fix in the form of a fourth season, 12 years after the previous! This long hiatus has kept fans wanting more, and now they can have it both in anime and video game form!
