Well, I expected more after Baku Bomberman...
This game is OK, but it is just the old Super Nintendo Bomberman games. There is literally no change from Super Bomberman 3 on Super Nintendo except for the graphics and music. All the mechanics, stages, items, and gameplay are all the same. This is not saying this game is bad, it is just basically playing the Super Nintendo versions on N64. This game also has a lot of minigames.

The main game is nothing more than the old grid based Bomberman game with destroying enemies, reveal the exit, and leave. Every once in a while, you have a chance to goto a bonus level which is either very hard, or very simple. The bosses are frustrating. I can't even beat the first boss. They look like they play dumb, but they really seem to cheat. Beyond the first boss, I can't say anything. If you like classic Bomberman, play Bomberman Tournament for GBA, it is much better.

The battle mode is 4 player classic grid based Bomberman mayhem, very fun, but for N64, I expected something like Baku Bomberman.

The minigames are mostly puzzle games. If the games were original, I would have been impressed, but these are all games I have played on SEGA before. The first one I played was just like Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. The second one I played was like a mix between Bejeweled and Collapse. I played another puzzle game I didn't understand, but saw before.

All in all, if you like classic Bomberman with a lot of extra features, then this game is for you, but if you are looking for a sequel or next version of Bomberman 64 (USA version), this is not it. This is grid Bomberman, not free-range. This is a good game, just wasn't for me.
