A good return to older style of console RPGs
While Bravely Default has been hailed as one of the greatest console RPGs of the current generation, it's fails to deliver a consistent enjoyment.
The story is your standard Square-Enix stuff, so anyone who has played a Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest game knows what to expect.
The gameplay harkens back to the SNES Final Fantasy games and is rather straightforward. The unique Brave and Default system for the game has it's dimensions, and adds a level of strategy and tactics. Thank the makers for the ability to increase the speed of the battles animations, as the battles themselves can get boring and long.
3D effects are what they are, and the game has issues on running on max framerate if turned on. Thus, it's useless.

Fresh take on the JRPG genre
Bravely Default is a fantastic example of how a game can be deceptively simple yet deep. The turn-based battle system offers another level of strategic depth by allowing you to "borrow" turns ahead of time, but beware, you can be caught unable to act as you "pay-off" your turns.

The artwork and backgrounds are beautiful and the characters are charming. The characters especially are given plenty of time to interact and develop as they progress on with the well-paced story. Unlike the FF13 series, the characters in BDFF do not indulge in monologues or get suddenly enlightened with irrelevant random ephipanies. The music is done by revo, an indie musician who also did the theme songs for the anime Attack on Titan, which is includes a lot of symphonic rock tracks, but they match the game's feel very very well.

A must buy, if you want to experience the classic FF series with a good spin.

Great J RPG
Bravery default is one of th best Rpg game in this age.
The graphic is also nice with the beautiful music and great detail in many systems.

Should not miss by all mean.

Worth it
All JP titles should have multiple language options just like this title. It helps A LOT!. The game play is old skool fare seen in the likes of the pre-playstation Final Fantasies. There's even four crystals in the story, like in the first 5 titles. A great twist in the game play is the DEFAULT which lets you guard and gain BRAVE points. you use BRAVE to add extra turns to your attack. If you use two BRAVE, you attack twice in a turn, and so on. If you use up all your BRAVE, you lose the next turn though so watch out. The game also makes use of street pass for another important feature in the game. You get monsters or villagers. If you connect to the Square Enix members online while playing, you get other bonuses, like that special event boss Asmodeus. The art is WONDERFUL. The music is top notch. BUY IT if you have a Japanese 3ds
