Cheap Ass Gamer and Play-Asia Raffle for Child's Play winner announcement - Child's Play Charity raised almost a million

A brighter world for a sick child

Slightly delayed due to the cable shuffling offshore Taiwan after the earthquake, which left most of Asia w/out internet (and still affects now), we're here to say final thanks and congratulations to the Cheap Ass Gamer & Play-Asia Raffle for Child's Play donators, - and winners!

We're happy to mention that CheapyD over at Cheap Ass Gamer has already notified the winners and that most prizes, including the $1,000 Play-Asia coupon voucher are already on their way to their lucky winners. Child's Play has been sent the donated funds of US$ 10,485. [no, CheapyD is not a like a regular Play-Asia employee, please do not mistake us ;)]

When looking at Child's Play efforts, it was clearly overwhelming this year. They managed to raise close to US$ 1 million (that's still an update from 28th of Dec, we hope they can still break the $1m barrier with update from 31th of December). That's not really peanuts. And best of all, in our opinion, is that this money comes from avid video gamers worldwide. What could be a clearer sign of how great and caring video gamers really are. Thanks again, and thanks also in Child's Play's name.

When looking at CheapyD's efforts, it's almost unbelievable to see how a person and a community that prides itself on cheap games and saving the very last penny giving away a very substantial fraction of this amount. It is simply amazing.

So, thanks again to you fellow donators, thanks to you all at Cheap Ass Gamer and thanks to you all at Child's Play. Let's continue to make 2007 the same success for them as 2006 was.
