The mighty Earth and the majestic oceans were born on the foundation of its sprouts, and the goddesses bestowed upon this world the name of Alsgard. At least, that’s what the “4 Goddesses Online” MMO is about. Now the real Gamindustri goddesses must log in and hack ‘n’ slash through this game-within-a-game to get to the final boss. What could possibly go wrong?

Surprisingly good game.
This was my first adventure in the Neptunia universe. I guess it was a shot for the stars for me, but this game delivered, and then some. I actually ended up buying Hyperdevotion Noire and Super Neptunia RPG after this.
The game is basically a simple action RPG that also includes some platforming. You have a party of four characters (there are 12 in total) each with their own abilities, but you can actively control only one. There is a town with shops and a guild where you take your quests, and from there you venture into a number of dungeons. Nothing extraordinary.
The element that I really enjoyed is that the characters do not behave as they are in a fantasy world. They are actually gamers who are playing an open beta version of this new and exciting RPG. So they are actually gamers, like us, who meet in the digital world. That surprised me a lot and it was very amusing and original to me.
There is also unexpectedly quite a lot of character development, often being showed in hilarious ways. Honestly, I laughed my eyes out at the Cheetah incident. There is of course a bit of fan service and typical japanese weirdness.
The music was surprising good as well. Splendid voice acting too.
If you think this kind of game might be your thing, give it a go. You will most definitely dig it.
