A young female nurse, named Anna, is caught in the middle of a world-wide chaos as flesh-eating zombies begin rising up and taking over the world and attacking the living. She escapes onto the streets and is rescued by a police officer, named Kenneth. Together they find shelter in a mall along with a group of other survivors. For a while everything is ok, but pretty soon, they start running out of food, the power goes out, and the dead keep finding ways to break through their defenses. Realizing they're sitting ducks, they make a plan to head for an island by using two armored mall shuttle busses to get across the sea of zombies

Best Zombie Movie i\'ve seen so far.
i havent seen many REAL zombie movies, i\'ve seen Resident Evil, 28 days later, and house of the dead but all of those weren\'t zombie movies in their purest forms. Dawn of the Dead 2004 is a pure and enjoyable piece of Zombi-fied goodness that\'s made me a definate fan.
I loved the characters, even though some were 1 dimensional, and i loved the simplistic storyline.
All in all, Dawn of teh Dead 2004 was a incredibly fun and exciting movie, man that music was good!

oh yeah and CJ ROCKS!!

Amazing Movie. Very Realistic.
This remake of George A. Romero’s so called, overrated 1978 “classic” provides the most in entertainment value. Bringer us much faster and dangerous form of the living dead than its 1978 counterpart. Offering much more fun, excitement, and zombies than any other zombie movie. More blood, characters, and media footage. This movie is a great experience for people of all ages, and even the hardcore Romero fans.
This movie does not bother with “consumerism” like Romero’s version did, which portrays “consumerism“ inaccurately. This one focuses more on the conflicts between the many survivors in the mall. It shows the viewers how the world slowly loses control, and is overrun by living dead creatures. This also reveals how the media lies to the world, and provides it with false information. A world completely lifeless and full of the living dead.
First time director, Zack Snyder makes a very impress movie directing debut. Bringing some of the most interesting shots ever filmed. Such as, an aerial shot at the beginning of the film that shows all the chaos and destruction around the world, a shot from the beginning of the movie where the camera is placed in front of Ana’s (Sarah Polley) car just over the hood, and an aerial shot at the end where CJ (Michael Kelley) blows up the bus to save the rest of the survivors while the zombies continue to run towards it.
This movie offers some very realistic blood and gore. One example is the fact that it has a red color like real blood. There were no scenes involving people being ripped open, but that makes the movie more realistic. Zombies ripping people open, then eating shows intelligence. The zombies in the movie are not supposed to be intelligent. They are supposed to act on instinct. They would not rip people open.
This is a very realistic movie. Involving realistic gore, media footage, and world destruction. While being able to make the movie, fun, fast, and exciting. This movie beats out all the zombie movies in history. Including those pathetic movies made by George Romero. Definitely a movie the entire world should see.

Entertainment = 10/10

Cool remake of the classic Dawn of the Dead
As remakes go i have to give this a thumbs up. The usual zombie movie criteria is there along with a few suprising new things such as the speed at which these things move. Now we all know what its like watching zombie movies thinking that those who have been caught and served up for lunch, deserve it due to their lack of being able to escape a thing that moves slower than a snail and is dumber than the nail on a duck billed platapus. However, this movies sees us moving away from this tedious aspect and makes one think that if this was real would they survive? Anyway i strongly recommend this movie for avid zombie fans and for those for whom it will be their first time. A film packed with blood, gore, moaning and laughs. What more could you want? (Maybe a part 2)
