because they know full well that Koei-Tecmo won't actually localize the game to the west, especially the US because sexiness is a no-no while death and gore are a-ok. anyways this game is as described, the only difference is the cover art is slightly different than the JP version. also most people will know if you need ...[read more...]

There’s fun to be had on New Zack Island, although we wish it drilled down on two or three things rather than the assortment of slighter activities it offers. Ultimately, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet is a minigame compilation that you play repeatedly to earn money to buy costumes for busty supermodels. Opportunities to photograph them in ever more leery ways unlock as you go, and that’ll have to be enough to satisfy you for the long term because the games themselves pall after a few hours. Like most beach holidays, they’re fantastic in theory, but once you’re there and twiddling your thumbs for things to do, it can get a bit dull.
It is what it is. They know people will import this, so it has English in it.
It is a fun, laid-back game. But as always it is a huge grind. And I do not feel like grinding it. The original Xbox one was the best in the series. This is the most beautiful one. Game mechanics in it are working perfectly, music and atmosphere is nice. Also I like the fact it lets you take questionable photos about the girls BUT the girls will hate you for it and it is a setback for you in the game.
I feel this is a collectors item, especially in the west for the following reasons:
-its only released in japan
-it is an erotic game on a family friendly system (not that the Nintendo today is hard on not family friendly games but the legacy is there)
This game was my childhood and its an amazing port for the Nintendo switch
Perhaps my expectations for this one were a bit high because I thought they might have added more than just two characters. But that was not the case.
The game functions basically like Xtreme 3: Fortune, but now Leifang and Misaki have been added. I was really hoping we would see the return of Lisa, Christie, or Tina - characters who have been in the DoA series, and the DoA Xtreme series, for a long time.
It wasn't until later that I learned that Fortune had since gotten DLC where the players can unlock Leifang and Misaki into said game, so this game had pretty much lost its initial unique aspect for me.
If you don't have a Dead Or Alive: Xtreme 3 game yet, you can't really go wrong with getting this one. But if you already have a version, probably stick with it.
The game seems pretty good to me, graphically it is spectacular. The only negative is that some mini-games that were in the second installment of Xbox 360 are missing (jet skis, the water slide, slot machines). This is the version you should have if you live in the West for English subtitles.
