The new Disgeae will bring a completely new and original storyline, sporting game system refinements that will produce the same over-the-top, endless, gameplay that has captured fans since the inception of the franchise!As an SRPG, the battles in Disgaea take place on a gridded map. The standard battle system has been enhanced with refined battle animations, puzzle aspects, and a highly customizable character creation system! And the characters are now beautiful high-definition sprites! All that HD action is going to be great when you’re beating away your enemies and dealing billions of points of damage with anything-but-tame skills. Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness features a new type of weapon : a 'book', a new Mounting system which allows a humanoid character mount itself onto a monster character to combine and open up a special new skill and attacks, a retooled Mentor mechanic that involves Relationship Values, and the return of Weapon Mastery from Disgaea Hour of Darkness and Disgaea 2 Cursed Memories.
