One day, his father brought back a mysterious magical pot that embroiled 12-year-old Yangus in an adventure involving the finding of treasures in dungeons. Besides encountering various monsters, the player will also meet with Yangus's female fellow thief in "Dragon Quest VIII", Geruda, who has a close relationship that went back to their childhood in the game.
