Arguably the series' best (so far) !
The newly implemented weapon upgrade system helps keep lower-level weapons useful for longer and movement mechanics are VASTLY improved. Map layouts and architecture take many cues from EDF 2 (one of the better instalments) and many enemies have been redesigned for the better, with some featuring interesting AI.
Cool sound effects along with particle effects depicting dismemberment, splattering and other signs of damage on enemies serve to keep track of things while adding a lot of visual pizzazz to the neverending on-screen carnage.
Unlike many other games, the disc takes very little to get things ready for you and load times stay short post-startup.
Sadly, however, this sequel doesn't fare substantially better than 4.1 (playing on a PS4 Pro) when it comes to performance. Still - with an array of new weapons and mechanics, an improved loot system, a lengthy challenging campaign and CRAZY co-op multiplayer. EDF delivers on almost all fronts like it always has!
Very Special Props to these recent new publishers ( PQube in this instance) that make physical copies of this title available to the public again. Please support these releases if you can. d(ºvº)
