FF7/FF8 Switch Cartridge
About time FF7 finally made it to cartridge where it belongs. It's a fine product although FF8 "Remastered" has some bizarre, unnecessary changes so I had to dock this a star for falling short of what would be a perfect version of both games.

Good Games
Both Final Fantasy games included here and masterpieces and it's nice to see both remaster finally getting a physical release.

The FF8 included in this Twin Pack requires 350mb update and you cannot launch the game without it.

And on the back of the case it says "To Play this game, you will need more than 20mb of free space in your Nintendo Switch Console. Internet Connection is requited to download updates for the game play. The service that can be used by connecting to the internet may be terminated after the period from the release of game software on Square-Enix's discretion"

A Great Release
It's excellent to have both of these games on a single cart. The cover and interior are nothing special, but nothing feels cheap. Definitely recommended if you are a fan of these games.

Full Circle
It's been more than 20 years since the original release of FF7. It marked the rise of Nintendo's competitor Sony in the console space, and saw the departure of mainline Final Fantasy games from Nintendo systems.

Things have now come full circle as FF7 and FF8 both are on a single cartridge. It's a bit ironic in that carts were the reason Square opted to go to Sony's disc based system to begin with.

This twin pack as of right now is the only physical re-release of FF7 on any of these current gen systems. Not even the PS4 or Xbox One have received such an unlikely surprise.

When you insert the cart into the system, both games pop up on the home screen to select from. It's not a unified game where you launch the game and then pick which game you want to play.

The price is a bit steep for what are older games. But it is in line with a typical retail switch release. Considering this is only being sold in one region I expect the higher price is to recoup the cost of production on the carts themselves or something.

As far as the box art is concerned? It despite using official art feels a bit generic with "Twin Pack" slapped across the front dividing the cover in half. On the inside? You have a blank white reverse of the cover. This can be addressed by creating your own cover art.

The only thing i think that could have made this even better is if FF9 were bundled in as well. Those three games for the price this is listed at would have been great.
